The images below provide an overview of Pia Johnson’s artistic practice where notions of transcultural identity, belonging and mobility have been explored. Featured are works that specifically think through ideas of ‘Eurasianess’, women’s roles, and the body in relation to time and place. Utilising performative methodology Pia also situates herself within the frame to re-image herself and women within the long history of photographic self-portraiture and photography.
