these photographs of woven threads are

offered as a consideration –

the delicacy and fragility of identity

its ever-changing and evolving nature

some of the metaphors we use to approach and articulate it

it has slowly emerged from a desire to explore

the literal and not-so-literal possibilities of threads and textiles

and has eventually become

enmeshed with my ongoing thoughts about

diaspora, family and Chinese-ness
